The mission of the UA clinical core is to provide integrated,
comprehensive care that is woman-centered, evidence-based,
culturally competent and community responsive.
Services include preventive health screening, family planning,
menopause management, pregnancy care, consultations for high-risk
pregnancies, and rapid breast diagnosis services.
The Women and Families Health and Resource
Center at University Physicians Healthcare (UPH) at Kino Campus
is a multidisciplinary clinic with family practitioners, obstetricians
and gynecologists. Primary and specialty healthcare services
are provided in one location at the University Physicians
Healthcare Clinics at Kino campus, a collaboration between
obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery, adult medicine,
pediatrics, and family practice.
Another goal of the UA CoE clinical core is to provide appropriate
care for women in the setting that delivers the best clinical
outcomes.
Thus, there is seamless referral to other clinics affiliated
with the CoE: oncology (Arizona
Cancer Center, an NCI designated Center of Excellence),
rheumatology (Arthritis
Center of Excellence), cardiology (Sarver
Heart Center), internal medicine, urogynecology,
breast imaging, and integrative medicine. In addition to providing
comprehensive clinical services for women, the collaboration
among these departments allows for training of medical students,
residents and fellows across departments in a women’s
health clinic setting.
